FAQs
What if my dog won’t sit still?
Please don’t worry, most dogs don’t sit perfectly still, and they really don’t need to. The sessions are relaxed and built around your dog’s personality, whether they are calm, playful, excitable, nosy or full of energy.
Some of the best photographs come from natural moments: running, sniffing, playing, looking at their owner or simply being themselves. I’ll work at your dog’s pace and keep things calm and enjoyable.
Can my dog stay on lead?
Yes, absolutely. Your dog can stay on a lead or long line for the whole session if needed.
This is especially useful for nervous dogs, young dogs, dogs with poor recall or dogs who are easily distracted. Where possible, leads can sometimes be edited out of selected images, although this will depend on the photo.
Your dog’s safety always comes first.
What if it rains?
As the sessions take place outdoors, the weather is always taken into account.
Light cloud or a little drizzle can still work beautifully, but if the weather is unsuitable or unsafe, the session can be postponed. This may include heavy rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, extreme heat or unsafe ground conditions.
If the weather is looking poor, I will keep an eye on the forecast and may make a decision up to 30 minutes before your session. If we need to postpone, we’ll arrange a new suitable date.
Can I be in the photos?
Yes, you are very welcome to be in the photos.
Owner and dog images are a lovely way to capture the bond you have with your dog. These can be relaxed and natural rather than overly posed, so you don’t need to worry about feeling awkward in front of the camera.
If you would rather the session focus just on your dog, that is completely fine too.
Can children be in the photos?
Yes, children can be included in the session with parent or guardian consent.
The session will stay relaxed and natural, with the focus on safe, genuine moments between children and dogs. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, and we will only photograph interactions that are safe and comfortable for both the child and the dog.
Do you photograph nervous dogs?
Yes. Nervous dogs are very welcome.
The secure field setting is ideal for dogs who need a bit more space and time to relax. There is no pressure for your dog to behave perfectly or perform on command. We can take things slowly, keep them on lead or long line, and work around what they are comfortable with.
Please let me know before the session if your dog is nervous, reactive, worried around people or easily overwhelmed, so I can plan the session properly.
How long until I get my images?
Your edited images will usually be ready within 7–14 days after your session.
You will receive access to a private online gallery where you can view your images and choose the ones included in your package. During busy periods, delivery may take slightly longer, but I will always keep you updated.
Can I buy extra images?
Yes. Your package includes a set number of edited digital images, but you can purchase extra images if there are more you love.
Can I use the photos for my business?
Standard sessions include images for personal use only.
This means you can print them, share them with family and friends, and post them on your personal social media accounts.
Commercial use is not included unless agreed in writing beforehand. This includes using images for business websites, advertising, paid promotions, branding, publications, breeder/trainer/groomer marketing or anything intended to promote a business or generate income.
If you would like images for commercial use, please mention this before booking so we can agree on the terms.
